About Us

We met as young designers at SCAD-Savannah in 2003 and have lived, worked and grown together ever since.

Visual storytellers,
collaborating to build brands & spaces through thoughtful design.

Bunker Design Collaborative was created in 2009 by SCAD-Savannah grad duo, Kandace and Rob Walker-Bunda with the intent of creating meaningful brand & space design solutions for individuals and businesses alike.
In 2018, fellow SCAD Architecture alum, Maggie McBride, RA began partnering with Bunker.Design. McBride’s 10+ of experience in architectural project management, along with her ability to create beautiful spaces and lasting client relationships, makes her an integral member of the Bunker.Design family.
In early 2019, Anya Khalo began partnering with Bunker.Design, and heads-up our Asheville office. Khalo, a graduate of Georgia Tech University - School of Architecture, has worked in architecture, graphic design and real estate development for over 10 years.
Bunker.Design’s talents, along with their veritable "fan deck" of design professionals, allows them to take on Branding + Architecture + Interiors projects of any scale.

Kandace Walker-Bunda

Master of Architecture -
Savannah College of Art & Design, 2006

A self-proclaimed Type-A creative,
K. Walker-Bunda likens herself to a modern-day Renaissance woman.
"I’ve never wanted to pigeon-hole myself into one specific design discipline - Monday, I may be drawing residential plans in CAD - Tuesday, I may be laying out graphics in InDesign - Thursday I might be sketching merchandise cabinets at my desk.
When you work in a small business like ours, having a hand in various types of design projects is what creates my work/life magic."
If not in the office, Kandace can be found playing PIG in the driveway with her boys, cutting flowers (on the side of the road somewhere), or in her home organizing something…anything!

Rob Walker-Bunda

Master of Fine Art in Illustration -
Savannah College of Art & Design, 2006

When asked "What's your dream job?", Rob with 100% certainty will answer,
"The one I have."
Rob spends his "work" days researching our client's craft, pulling project-specific inspiration, sketching brand/logo concepts for various business types, and then honing ideas to package his creations for the "big reveal."
When not developing brands for Bunker.Design clients, Rob can be found drawing with his two boys, Atlas (8) and Indy (4), running or tooling around the Southeast searching for critters, mountains, and streams.

Maggie N. McBride, RA

With experience in both commercial and residential projects, her largest portfolio of work is in hospitality, restaurant and retail / office sectors.  Her clients include Ford Fry, Guy Wong, Shake Shack, Whole Foods Market (NE & SE) and Serenbe.  You can find her work in Bryant Park, NY, Ponce City Market (Bellina), Krog Street Market (Richard’s Chicken), the Beltline (Nina + Rafi and Bogg’s Supply).  Her most recent projects include Lyla Lila Restaurant and Bar in Midtown, Artisan Beaute Spa in Buckhead, Wonderkid Diner at the Dairies, Redbird Restaurant and Bar in White Provisions and Halsa Restaurant in Serenbe.
When she is not on a job site or drafting a custom detail for a local fabricator, you can find her traveling somewhere afar, outside on a hike with her partner and their sweet dog, climbing a rock wall, practicing her golf swing or watching CBS Sunday Morning with the Time’s crossword stumping her once again.

Anya Khalo

Master of Architecture -
Georgia Institute of Technology, 2008

Anya Khalo moved from Belarus to the US when she was only 15.
Khalo often reflects on her first job here in the US (a waitress at Waffle House) and how this experience not only helped her hone her english, but also taught her so many important lessons about living in “the South.”
Anya worked with Collins Cooper Carusi Architects and helped lead their architectural renderings division from 2010-2013.
In addition to working with CCCA for several years she also led an undergraduate studio in Georgia Tech’s Building Department.
Over the past few years Anya has built a floating house on Lake Fontana with her husband, Justin, worked with local builders to design multiple ADU residential projects, and traveled to Europe, Iceland, and Costa Rica with her 3 year-old son, Asher in-tow - All with a big, beautiful smile on her face.
